Description
This contemporary macrame wall hanging is a result of our lead designer Seda‘s newfound interest in macrame knots. In creating this macrame wall art, her goal was to bring in a contemporary design approach to this ancient tradition. Seeing strings as lines and knots as potential geometric forms, Seda approached this craft more like a graphical composition with texture.
This limited edition wall art stands out with its asymmetric composition emphasized with contrasting elements. The artwork starts very plain on the right side with just straight lines. Then, the designer introduces two layers of straight lines and curves basket woven, emphasizing the contrast. The curves flowing to the left side of the artwork end in a twisting 3D knot structure.
The design uses %100 cotton macrame single strings from Diva Iplik‘s slim line. Hornbeam wood is used as the supporting feature.
Imagined as part of the “Geometric Love” collection, this macrame wall hanging is the second one of Seda‘s exploration with the medium. The series will consist of mostly one of a kind and limited edition works. So, we highly recommend timely purchases.
