Ebruli
a collection where traditional technique meets contemporary times
We designed the collection “Ebruli” for our 11th anniversary. We first started exploring the ebruli technique, known as marbling and comes from China. We then played with the art print we created in digital media.
It is based on a one of a kind Ebruli art print we created around 2020. Ebruli is . However, we know about it through our own culture Turkish, Ottoman, Asian. In Ottoman culture this technique is called ebruli and mostly used in bookbinding. Ottomans developed their unique styles and patterns among which tulip is one of the most significant icons. In our work, we always reflect on the cultures we come from and we experience. This is yet another example of that.
Giftwraps
Ebruli giftwraps are based on the original marbling art print we created. We then worked on it digitally, applying different colors and working in different scales. Emerged from this exploration were these two giftwraps in pink-green and blue-red color schemes.
