The 13th Hamide Days

The days between February 20 and March 4 are special to us. It is Hamide Days, a period where we remember our honorary founder and mother Hamide, the wonderful woman who inspired the founding of our studio.

The period covers her birthday, passing, and funeral. This two-week period is emotionally heavy for us, yet, we hope to turn it to an inspiring one by organizing Hamide Days, where we design new products with a special focus on our mother’s values, or host events. This year we designed the ‘Stationery Love’ totebag.

The story is that she loved writing and journaling, and as a designer herself, drawing and making. She wanted to pass this on to us and so her gifts to us were often intended for our creative expression. We loved the ‘mon ami’ pastels she would buy and how as years passed we would get a larger set, starting with 6-pack to 32-pack was well-earned. Thus, with this totebag, we wanted to create a home for your creative essentials to carry around with you, whether a sketchbook, notebook, colored pencils… Maybe not a tape dispenser? But a washi tape can come in handy!

On these days, where most of us suffer from screen addiction (we also have our bad days), it is important to remember to find channels for analog creativity and expression. This totebag might help you gather and be creative on the go!

You might as well carry other stuff, it just looks super cute, we think! And most importantly, organic cotton and silkscreen printed in Malmö by a local artisan.

We chose a soft ‘stem-green’ colored totebag and blue for the print. We illustrated our own ‘Geometric Love’ handmade notebook and ‘Hamide Basics’ notepad as well as some generic stationery products like scissors, paperclip, pencil, and tape dispenser, not to forget ‘Mon Ami’ pastels. The inscription ‘Stationery Love’ is Seda’s handwriting. All illustrations were done by her while Şeyda made sure all fits together well and a coherent and balanced look is achieved.
