Super Woman

This collection is about women. Our minds are so strong therefore we can do things that are not expected or possible.

Postcard

“Super Kvinde” means super woman in Danish. This collection was designed for the women’s day in 2013. It was published and presented five days after Hamide Yanç Özçetin’s funeral on the 9th of March. She is our main model and inspiration for this and many other collections. So “Super Kvinde” refers to her and all women. We believe that all women are special, amazing, and fabulous. Our minds are so strong therefore we can do things that are not expected or possible. We are heroes, we are super women!

The postcard features the text “Super Kvinde” written in embroidery style. The postcard reacts to patriarchy by combines the tradition of embroidery with super hero culture.

Update

Aung San Suu Kyi was part of our print Super Women due to her past, accomplishments and holding a Nobel Peace Prize. But right now with great sadness we are witnessing genocide against Rohingya people in her rule. We hold her responsible. Thus, we took the decision of removing her from our print. She doesn’t deserve that spot at all. However, since the material is already printed, we will hack the rest of the prints in various ways one by one by hand. If you own this print, please you also hack and remove her somehow!

Thank you.

We would also appreciate very much if you follow what is happening there and sign all the petitions to protect these people and justice to be served.
