This collection is devoted to Hamide Yanç Özçetin, honorary founder of Hamide.
The collection was initially designed for Hamide Yanç Özçetin’s birthday and also for the 1st anniversary of her passing away. We call this period, stretching from the 20th of February til the 4th of March, Hamide Days. So, in other words it was designed for Hamide Days. Each year a new product is designed and launched during Hamide Days.
We see our mother as a graceful, humble, wise, patient and quiet bird, spreading light and love, coming from the east. She was so pure! And she used to call us as nightbirds : ) since we are up all night doing things. So this collection takes its essence from all these. Dedicated to her and all the other birds!
She is an Eastern Bird 1
“She is an Eastern Bird 1”, launched during the 1st Hamide Days in 2014, is a digital replica of a collage featuring a bird illustration drawn by Şeyda Özçetin in 2011 winter at Funch’s Vinstue Bodega, while she was bartending at the night shift, for Hamide’s birthday; together with a handwritten text stating “she is an eastern bird”.

“She is an Eastern Bird 2” was launched during the 2. Hamide Days in 2015.
The print is the digital replica of the original artwork designed and made by Şeyda Özçetin for the exhibition “Jonas’ Julekort 2014“.
She is an Eastern Bird 3
“She is an Eastern Bird 3” was launched during the 3. Hamide Days in 2016.
The print is a digital replica of the mixed media collage of dried flowers left by the guests attending Hamide Yanç Özçetin‘s funeral in 2013, the embroidery handmade by Seda Özçetin based on Hamide‘s photograph, ripped papers and handwriting.
We created the framed scenes by editing the frame mock-ups created by Cosmo Studio.
